About Me:

I was born in Tokyo, moved to Beijing when I was a baby and came to Sydney as I just turned 10. Back when I couldn’t speak English, my drawing pad was my best friend. It was my escape and way of making sense of the world.

Coming from a visual art and photography background, and now as an up-and-coming cinematographer, I think my biggest strength is empathy---tuning an internal feeling turning into visuals that could be felt externally.

I like stories with a social impact and never want anyone to feel like they are alone. I also enjoy getting to know each person’s individual, creative mind that comes my way. My curiosity about people and wanting to make them feel understood is what drives me to be in the filmmaking business than a more solitary art form.

I value quality and tend to treat all my projects with a lot of care. I enjoy working with like-minded people, but also like getting challenged by differences and grow as a result. Thankfully, I’ve made met many wonderful collaborators thus far on my journey. I look forward to continuing shoot projects and grow my assisting experiences in short and long form contents and TVCs.

Outside of film, I listen to many different genres of music and have been nicknamed a ‘walking-human-Shazam’ by friends. Whether it’s singer-songwriter folk songs or experimental electronic music, I’m always keen to listen to another album. Maybe a part of me wants to be a music supervisor on a HBO show.

Hope to meet you at your favourite bands’ next gig.
